Fragments of Origin | K-DEMON LORE #23

Some histories disappear with time. Others disappear because someone wanted them forgotten.

K-DEMON LORE

🌍 Before the Fragments Were Found
The Hunter discovered an ancient symbol that revealed an impossible truth:
The world was not created divided. It became divided.

But the symbol raised an even greater question. If Order, Emotion, and Collapse were once connected, what happened to the world that existed before them?

Fragments of Origin | K-DEMON LORE #23

The Question That Followed Him

The Hunter left the underground passage carrying no treasure.
No weapon.
No map.

Only five words.
We were not created apart.

They followed him across the ruins.
They followed him through the territories of Order.
They remained with him when Emotion whispered through abandoned cities.

Even at the edge of the Abyss, where countless memories had disappeared into Collapse, the words remained.

The Hunter had spent much of his journey asking what the forces wanted.

Now the question was different.

If Order, Emotion, and Collapse had once belonged to something whole—
what had separated them?

And why had the answer been removed?

The Hunter understood what he had to do.
He would search for the missing history.

The First Fragment

The ancient symbol from Episode #22 gave him his first direction.

Its outer circle was not perfectly symmetrical.
Along one edge were three tiny marks.

At first they appeared to be damage.
But under a different light, the Hunter saw that they formed a pattern.

Three points.
Three directions.
Three locations.

The first led him toward an abandoned structure beyond the oldest territories controlled by Order.

Nothing there appeared important.

There were no monuments.
No archives.
No guards.

Only broken stone buried beneath pale dust.

The Hunter searched until he found another fragment.
It carried the same circle.

But this version was different.

Inside the circle, the three lines were still connected.
And beneath them appeared a single word written in an ancient form he could barely understand.

One.

The Hunter stared at it.
Not three.
One.

The Second Fragment

The next mark led him far from Order.

He crossed a region saturated with old Emotion—a place where memories seemed to drift through the air like invisible weather.

There, the Hunter began hearing voices.

Not sentences.
Fragments.
Laughter.
A song without words.

Someone calling to someone else.
Then silence.

Deep beneath the remains of a collapsed chamber, he discovered the second piece.

Another circle.
Another three lines.

But here, something new appeared between them.

Thin connections.
Like threads.

The moment the Hunter touched the stone, Emotion surged around him.
A vision appeared.

Three forms moved within the same world.

They were different.
But they were not separated.

No walls stood between them.
No territories divided them.
No force attempted to dominate another.

Difference existed.
Conflict did not.

Then the vision fractured.
A violent white line crossed the image.
Everything disappeared.

The Hunter looked down.

The stone itself had been cut.
Deliberately.

The Same Wound

He compared the first fragment with the second.

The damage was identical.
Not similar.
Identical.

The same angle.
The same depth.
The same section removed.

Time did not damage stone that way.
Collapse did not erase with that kind of precision.

Someone had done this.
Someone had traveled from place to place and removed the same part of the story.

The Hunter suddenly understood why the ancient record beneath the first symbol had seemed incomplete.

The missing pieces were not random.
They all concealed one moment.

The moment when One became Three.

Order Begins to Resist

The Hunter returned to the archives of Order.

This time, he did not ask about the symbol.
He asked a different question.

“What existed before the first division?”

The response came immediately.
There was no record.

The Hunter asked again.

“What existed before Order?”

The structures around him changed.

Doors closed.
Lines of light appeared across the archive walls.

For the first time, access was denied.
Order had always protected information.

But this was different.
It was protecting an absence.

The Hunter realized something important.

Order might not know what had happened.
But somewhere inside its oldest structure, it knew that the question was dangerous.

The Hunter stepped closer.

“If there is no record,” he asked, “why is the question forbidden?”

No answer came.
That silence told him enough.

Emotion's Broken Memory

Emotion did not resist him.
It suffered.

When the Hunter brought the two fragments together, waves of memory spread through the chamber.

Images appeared faster than before.

A single horizon.
Three movements.
A circle of light.

Figures standing beneath a sky with no division.
Then—
fear.

The Hunter froze.

This was new.
Until now, the forgotten world had felt peaceful.

But beneath Emotion's oldest memory was something else.

Not hatred.
Not anger.
Fear.

Something had happened before the division.
Something powerful enough to make separation seem necessary.

The Hunter tried to follow the memory.

The vision began to sharpen.
A vast light appeared at the center.

Three forms surrounded it.

And beyond them—
a fourth shape.

The Hunter stepped forward.

Then the memory tore itself apart.
Emotion recoiled.
The chamber went dark.

Whatever had happened, Emotion could not remember beyond that point.

Or perhaps—
it did not want to.

The Third Fragment

The final mark led toward the Abyss.

The Hunter descended farther than before.

Collapse surrounded him, but did not interfere.

At the bottom of a narrow chasm stood a wall almost completely consumed by darkness.
Almost.

One piece remained untouched.

The third fragment.

The symbol appeared again.

But here the circle had begun to crack.
Three lines were pulling away from the center.

Between them was a shape the Hunter had never seen before.

A small opening.
A gap. Not emptiness.
A wound.

The Hunter touched it.
For an instant, he heard something.

Not a voice.
A sound.
A single deep vibration that seemed to pass through the entire world.

The fragment trembled.
Then a sentence appeared in his mind.

We divided so that something would survive.

The Hunter stepped back.
Everything changed.

Mid Insight — Perhaps Division Was Not the Crime

Until that moment, the Hunter had assumed division was the disaster.

One reality had become three.
Wholeness had been broken.

War had eventually followed.
It was easy to believe that separation had been the first mistake.

But what if it had not been?
What if division had been a response?
A choice made because something worse was approaching?

Perhaps the ancient world had not been destroyed because it divided.
Perhaps it divided because it was already in danger.

That possibility changed the Hunter's investigation.

He was no longer asking:
Who broke the world?

He was asking:
What made the world believe it had to break itself?

Fragments Become a Map

The Hunter placed the three fragments together.
Nothing happened at first.

Then the ancient markings began to glow.

The circles aligned.
The three lines joined.
The damaged sections formed a single empty space.

And within that absence appeared something unexpected.

A map.
Not a map of the current realms.

No Celestial Realm.
No Middle Realm.
No Abyss.

The map showed one continuous world.
At its center stood a location marked by the same mysterious fourth sign.

The Hunter recognized the pattern immediately.
It resembled the presence he had encountered between the realms.

But now he hesitated to call it the Fourth Presence.

That name belonged to the divided world.
This symbol came from before division.

Perhaps it had another name.
Perhaps once—
everyone had known it.

The Erased Path

The map revealed a route.

The Hunter followed it across territories that should never have connected.

A passage beneath Order continued into ruins saturated with Emotion.
Those ruins descended into structures buried near the Abyss.

The current world treated these places as separate.
The ancient architecture did not.

They had once been part of the same place.

The Hunter walked deeper.

Symbols covered the walls.
Whole circles.
Connected lines.

The mysterious mark.

Again.
Again.
Again.

Then they stopped.

Ahead stood an enormous stone doorway.
Across its surface was evidence of deliberate destruction.

Someone had attacked the door repeatedly.

Not to open it.
To erase what had been written upon it.

Most of the inscription was gone.
But several words remained.

The Hunter cleared the dust.

He read them slowly.

Before the Three...

A missing section.

...there was no war.

Another missing section.

Then the final words:

Do not remember the First—

The rest had been destroyed.

Someone Wanted the Beginning Forgotten

The Hunter stood before the doorway for a long time.

The fragments had proven something beyond doubt.

The world before division had existed.
Order, Emotion, and Collapse had once been connected.

The division had happened because something threatened that earlier reality.

And afterward—
someone had systematically erased the truth.

The Hunter considered the possibilities.

Order?
Perhaps.
Order controlled history.

But the erased fragments were older than Order's oldest archives.

Emotion?
No.

Its memories carried pain, not concealment.

Collapse?
Unlikely.
Collapse erased everything eventually.

This destruction was selective.
Precise.
Intentional.

Someone wanted the world to remember that division happened.

But not why.

The Hunter looked at the unfinished warning.

Do not remember the First—

The word remained incomplete.

The First what?
Force?
World?
Presence?
Choice?

The Hunter felt something behind him.

He turned.
Nothing.

Then the ancient doorway opened.

Not because he touched it.
Not because he forced it.

It opened from the other side.

Beyond the Door

Warm light entered the passage.

The Hunter did not draw his sword.
For the first time in a long while, he understood that a weapon would not help him.

Beyond the doorway was not another chamber.
It was a memory.

A living fragment of the world before division.

One sky.
One horizon.
One reality.

And far in the distance—
three figures stood together.

Order before it became Order.
Emotion before it became Emotion.
Collapse before it became Collapse.

They were looking toward something beyond the horizon.
Something the Hunter could not yet see.

Then the mysterious Presence appeared beside him.

Silent.
Formless.
Familiar.

The Hunter looked toward it.

“You remember.”

The Presence gave no answer.
But the world around them changed.

The horizon brightened.
The three ancient figures turned.

And for the first time—
the Hunter saw fear in all three.

Something was coming.

Author’s Insight

History often tells us what happened.
It rarely tells us what people believed would happen if they chose differently.

The Hunter began this investigation believing that division created the tragedy of the K-DEMON universe.

Now he faces a more difficult possibility.

Division may have been an act of survival.

That does not make everything that followed inevitable.

It does not justify war.
It does not erase suffering.

But it changes the meaning of the beginning.
Order, Emotion, and Collapse may not have been born as enemies.

They may have been fragments of a single reality that chose separation because remaining whole had become impossible.

And if that is true, then the greatest secret is no longer the division itself.
It is what frightened an entire world enough to divide.

The Hunter has found the fragments of origin.
Now he must step into the memory they were meant to hide.

Coming Next

Order is not yet Order.
Emotion is not yet Emotion.
Collapse is not yet Collapse.

And the mysterious Presence has not yet been forgotten.

For the first time, the Hunter will witness the world as it existed before the Three.

But something is approaching that world.
Something powerful enough to make division seem like the only way to survive.

Before we discover how the world broke, we must discover what it was trying to escape.

Order, Emotion, and Collapse were not always separate.
The ancient world did not simply break.

It may have divided itself to survive.

But one question remains:
What was coming that frightened an entire world enough to divide?
