In May 2026, Vancouver’s historic Orpheum hosted the Canadian edition of the K-Pop Cover Dance Festival, co-hosted by the Korean Cultural Centre Canada. Simon Fraser University also included K-POP dance in its 2026 recreation schedule, showing how the genre has entered everyday cultural and educational spaces.
It is participatory.
Fans learn choreography.
They rehearse together.
They perform before audiences.
And through that process, strangers become communities.
